Internal vs External

The Internal setting provides a way to organize users into one of two categories: internal or external. When a user is assigned an internal role on a given project (regardless of the user-account level internal setting), then they can see internal entities (forms/comments/fields/filters) in that project.

Figure 31: Internal Checkbox

Throughout the project in TRACE, each dialog box that is used to create new items or post comments has an Internal checkbox. Select this checkbox prior to saving the item to allow only internal users access to the information.

It is important to note that if something is marked as Internal, only project staff identified as internal will be able to view it.

Internal mark can be applied to TRACE accounts, roles, forms, comments, fields on a form types and filters.
